Atlanta, Georgia, United States | Climate Action | Full-time

Grassroots Voter Outreach is immediately hiring passionate and motivated people to build support for an urgent environmental campaign in the Atlanta area. For over a decade Grassroots Voter Outreach has been on the front lines of progressive change. We design and run ground-breaking outreach campaigns and work with the top national progressive political groups and nonprofits.

This summer we have the chance to pass legislation to stop climate change and invest in a green energy economy, and we can't afford to miss the opportunity. We're running a campaign to build visibility and public support for climate action: gathering petition signatures, collecting photo and video petitions, and recruiting volunteers. We're seeking someone with the leadership skills necessary to recruit and manage the canvass team that will make this possible.

  • Recruitment: Build a team of 30+ canvassers by recruiting from within the local community. Identify and interview prospective staff and make hiring decisions.
  • Staff Management: Teach canvassing and volunteer recruitment skills. Work with your staff in individual and group settings with a particular eye towards developing leaders. Cultivate a welcoming and motivating atmosphere.
  • Canvassing: Canvass 3-4 times per week to train new and experienced staff in the field and meet personal fundraising requirements.
  • Administration: Carefully track income and expenses. Handle the budget for your office. Process staff payroll. Maintain records for future organizing efforts.

  • You're an excellent communicator with motivational skills, work ethic, and dedication to political change
  • You make a great teammate who can tackle big goals in high-stakes environments with enthusiasm and a sense of humor
  • You're a confident leader with a proven ability to shoulder significant responsibility
  • You're self-directed and able to take initiative
  • Previous field or canvassing experience is a plus and may qualify you for additional leadership positions

  • This is an eight-week project starting ASAP, with opportunities to extend
  • A typical work week runs 50-60 hours, including frequent work on weekends

This position is based in Atlanta, GA. Candidates must be in Atlanta or willing to relocate there for the duration of the project.
